Module 4 Work Processes has four (standards) aligned to Baldrige Framework. 

Module 4 Operations Excellence (Key Work Processes)

WHO BENEFITS FROM MODULE 4 WORK PROCESSES: Managers of Product, Service or Program Design, Production and Delivery processes. The Operations Focus Team (OFT) Chair Person is accountable for Operations Excellence (Work Processes) results, and Module 5 (Operations Effectiveness) results.  

WHAT YOUR OPERATIONS EXCELLENCE MANAGERS RECEIVE:

Module 4 provides the foundation for Work Key Processes, and includes these OE21 Standards:

6.1a PRODUCT, SERVICE, AND PROCESS DESIGN -  Implementation of this OE21 Standard helps the organization to:

 

  • Determine key product, service, program, and process requirements.

 

  • Document key work processes and their requirements.

 

  • Implement design-to-requirements processes, with the incorporation of new technology, organizational knowledge to design for product and service excellence, customer value, and consideration of risk and agility.

 

6.1b PROCESS AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT - Implementation of this OE21 Standard helps the organization to:

  • Measure and improve key processes and support processes including"

 

Process Requirements - cycle time, cost, and outputs of key and essential support processes;

Process Measurement - of key and support processes versus requirements; 

Improvement - of products, services, or programs in order to boost their value to customers; and

Project Management - planning and management of projects to meet schedule, cost & technical requirements

 6.1c SUPPLIER AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT - Implementation of this OE21 Standard helps the organization to:

  • Select the best key suppliers and supply chains 

  • Allocate or award purchase orders/contracts to key suppliers

  • Measure and manage the performance of key suppliers and supply chains

  • Implement improvement plans for key suppliers and supply chains

 

7.1 PROCESS AND PROCESS RESULTS -- Implementation of this OE21 Standard helps the organization to:

  • Provide Trend Chart results for Baldrige 7.1 Product and Process Results

  • Support Organization Performance Reviews and Action Plans

  • Support continuous improvement toward excellence of Results

  • Ensure that the organization is focused on results

  • Aligns results targets (goals) with all organization needs

  • Facilitate Performance Reviews of Key Process Indicators (KPIs)

  • Facilitate Continuous Improvements throughout the organization

When all the above objectives are completed, the OE21 Certification Coach conducts a final review of the Module 4 standards implementation and provides feedback to the focus teams. When all module requirements are met, the OE21 provider organization issues individual certification badges to each focus team participant who actively engaged in implementing this module.
